Mac Whirled

Today I figured out that my courses at the community college qualified me for an educational discount on certain Apple products. It happens that I have been guiltily contemplating the purchase of a Macintosh computer for a few months now. Originally I had decided to purchase a MacBook, but on reflection it occurred to me that since I don’t really travel much anymore, plus I am sick of squinting at tiny screens, maybe it would be better to purchase the iMac. The system comes in a 20 inch version and a 24 inch version.

So my boyfriend and I drove up to the Microcenter on 92nd & Metcalf and looked at the iMacs there. It took me about 15 minutes to decide that I was going to purchase the 20 inch model. We drove over to the Apple Store on the plaza to make the purchase. I went inside and told a man that I wanted to buy a computer. Twenty minutes later we walked back to the car with the new Mac.

I was literally so excited about this purchase that I could hardly stand to wait for us to actually get home and set it up. If we could have teleported back to the house I would have done that.

I love my new computer and I think it is beautiful. But I am scared that I might die without right click menus. I don’t know how to do this. I can’t even make the cursor go to the beginning of the line. In Windows you press the “home” button and it does this for you. I actually downloaded something earlier and then could not figure out where it “went”. I would never have this problem on a PC.

It took the simplicity of Apple computers to make me computer illiterate. But I paid too much for this thing not to work out.
