Time Test

I timed myself.  The Easter Egg blanket is 36 inches across.  Crocheting one row and changing colors for the next row took me 12 minutes.  And each row is 1/4 inch tall.  So assuming I want the blanket to measure at least 30 inches on the other dimension, that means I will have to stitch 120 rows in total.  I have 13 rows complete, which means I am 11% of the way there.  My estimation is that I will need to spend approximately 1,440 minutes, or 24 hours, of total crochet work to finish this thing.  I can already feel my resolve faltering.

Why didn’t I pick something easy and small, like a pot holder or a dog sweater?  Why didn’t I notice how badly the dog needs a pastel dog sweater before I invested my 156 minutes in this project?
