Flesh to Alabaster

My boyfriend just came in and asked me, “What is the connection between arson and alabaster?”
I thought for a moment and realized he must have read the entry I wrote last night about the Police. I told him, “Because after you get all burned up you turn into white ash?”
He nodded uncertainly.
“That doesn’t really make sense today,” I said.
“No,” he said.
What was I thinking? More importantly, what was Sting thinking? Flesh to alabaster? What is that, some kind of ethnic cleansing reference? Psychologically unhealthy for sure.
