Return of Christ (Packer)

Christ packer guy finally posted his crazy position paper outline! And then the teacher went through and wrote comments on everybody’s outlines and it kind of made my day!
Everyone in a publically held office needs to be a God feariing individual.
It was the desire of our founding Fathers that anyone holding public office be a God fearing individual. We have no government armed in power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Our Constitution was made only for a religious and moral people. It is wholly inadequate for the government of any other.
President John AdamsReason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principles
George WashingtonThe longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of this truth: ‘that God governs in the affairs of men.’ And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His notice, is it probable that an empire can rise without His aid?
Ben FranklinThis will bring a greater level of accountability.
God who gave us life gave us liberty. And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure if we have removed their only firm basis: a conviction in the minds of men that these liberties are the gift of God? That they are not to be violated but with His wrath? Indeed, I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just; that His justice cannot sleep forever
Thomas JeffersonThis will bring a greater level of unity in our country.

Some may feel that God fearing people are predjudice against other individuals of different beliefs.
Although this may be true, these people are accountable to God whom loves all mankind.

Greater level of unity? Why, because the rest of us will all be led off to take showers in gas chambers? His paper is the literary (if he weren’t halfway illiterate to begin with) equivalent of taking a shit on everyone who doesn’t share his totally warped point of view. I think the professor basically felt the same way because he wrote:
Hello,
This reflects your strong opinions, which is always a good start for a paper. However, the Constitution does not make any religious requirement, as a matter of fact, the opposite is found within it. Making your argument against that will be very difficult to do.
Take Care
This made me feel a little better, but I still felt this irrational need to argue against this guy and actually speak up this time. Since I never wound up saying anything about his anti-gay remarks and I hated keeping quiet about that! But I still like the professor and didn’t want to make him upset or have it look like I was attacking another student, so I decided to go for the “bitchy denunciation in helpful suggestion’s clothing” approach:
That is an interesting viewpoint, [Christ Packer Guy]. Since you are quoting the founding fathers, you might find it useful to hear that not everyone agrees that the US was founded on Christian ideals. A number of the founding fathers, (Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, and Thomas Paine in particular), were strongly opposed to organized religion in general and were critical of Christianity in particular. Many of the most well-known founding fathers are considered by historians to have been Deists, which is much different from the religious beliefs you are describing. Deists believe in a higher power, but are distinct from Theists in that they do not believe that God interferes with human life and the universe.
The quotes you’ve provided do support this Deistic belief in a higher power, although I have to politely disagree with your assertion that this means only Christians should be elected to public office. If the founding fathers had intended for this to be a Christian nation, as you suggest, they would not have so strongly supported the Bill of Rights, which was enacted out of a general concern that the Constitution alone did not adequately protect human rights and freedoms, and could give rise to a variety of tyrannies, including theocracy.
Ha, ha! I wonder if it will totally make his head explode! He has probably never heard of Deism! He probably thinks Christianity is the first monotheistic religion!

Maybe his head did explode…or maybe after such a shocking blow he couldnt muster up the strength to write a rough draft…
Or maybe he realized every one hates him…even the professor…

I know, he still hasn’t posted anything! I used to sort of look forward to his posts in kind of a weird way, because it would give me more feedback for shit I could say that might piss him off. I mean, the guy pisses me off, but I have to admit he has made this class more entertaining. It gave me kind of a purpose to be able to strive to make this guy mad. Every assignment started turning into “Star Colony Assignment” PLUS “What would [Christ Packer Guy] hate most?”
