Trading Eddies

When I was little, I didn’t used to understand that Eddie Money and Eddie Murphy were not the same person. Obviously this sounds completely stupid, but keep in mind that when I was small I knew about Beverly Hills Cop and Trading Places but not the video to “Take Me Home Tonight”. So I had no idea that the person who sang the song was not a wily and lovable black comedian, but a scary looking white man. Even though I know the difference now, I still think of Eddie Murphy whenever I hear that song. It’s because I love him more than Eddie Money.
