The Littlest DollHouse

My boyfriend and I went out for breakfast in Westport and then to Half Price Books, and I bought a book about miniature (1/24 scale) dollhouses. I don’t have time or money to put into a hobby like that right now, but I’d love to do that kind of stuff someday. I’ve always loved small things so I think I’d really like to take up modeling or building small replicas of things. I think that with the right tools I could have a lot of fun. The book came with actual blueprints and explains how to use things like a lathe to make doors and furniture and things. I think honestly that I’d prefer to use 1/12 scale because it’s a more popular scale and therefore has more stuff out there for it, but as the author of the book points out, there’s a considerable advantage to 1/24 scale when you have limited space, which we do. But I think 1/12 would be easier to work with, because I was thinking about it was and realizing just exactly how tiny 1/24 is: 6 feet to 3 inches. That means that you could be working on some tiny little room and it might only be four inches tall. I don’t think I can do detail that small.

The accounting professor gave us three extra days to turn in the homework because she hadn’t realized how much trouble we were all experiencing, so I decided to take the rest of the day off, considering how hard I worked all week. I feel like this homework is almost impossible to get through.
