100% Authentic Rabbit

I went to the library today and studied the first chapter of my accounting reading for this week. Got all the way through it, and although it only took a couple of hours, I was quickly too tired of accounting to bother with another chapter. Around 12:15 I relocated to Panera because I was freaking starving, and the library had no wireless internet, let alone a place to plug in my computer. I was curious to see whether Panera might, but it didn’t. Well, crap. So much for that idea.

This morning I drove my roommate to work and she said she was helping her boyfriend rename a bunch of stuff for something he is writing. She said he isn’t very good at picking good names for things, so she liked to help him with names. I said, “Yes, before he met you his penis was named Breadstick.” I thought that was pretty funny, even though I know it makes no sense.

After I dropped her off, I went to Microcenter and bought myself one of those pen and tablet things that I’ve been wanting for so long. I was afraid I might regret it as an impulse buy for something I wouldn’t use, but I have no regrets thus far. It came with Corel Painter Essentials 2, which is really cool. It’s almost easier than using a pen and paper. It makes my hand cramp a little bit because the tablet is a little small (4×5) and takes some getting used to, but it’s pressure sensitive and has an eraser. Meaning I can make a line darker or lighter depending on how hard I press down, and that if I goof, I don’t have to waste time going Ctrl-Z or getting the eraser with the mouse. I love it. Here are the first few things I drew with it. Obviously they’re far from perfect, but that’s not half bad for something I drew entirely on the computer, and my first ever. I think I can get a lot better than this with practice. If I can draw a rabbit that’s recognizable as such within 20 minutes of setting this thing up and using it for the first time, this could be great.
