ACCOUNTANT BY DAY

The new girl being transferred to my store has strep throat and can’t come to work for several days. She sounded terrible on the phone, so I’m glad she isn’t coming in to make all of us sick. I’m disappointed, though, because I was so excited about having new, trained help. The other teller and I performed a financial analysis today to see if I should purchase a laptop. He votes thumbs up. So do I. We both agree that a laptop will be 25% more fun than keeping the money.

I noticed that both the Associated Press crossword and the Times crossword had Greta Garbo clues today. It reminded me how this one time my freshman year the AP crossword had the clues “Esau’s twin” and “Jacob’s twin” in two back-to-back days. Sometimes I like it when crosswords have complimentary clues like that. It’s very satisfying.
