ACCOUNTANT BY DAY

I’ve decided to become more organized, which is interesting because the cap from my Jones soda bottle last Tuesday night predicted this would happen, only I didn’t discover this until after I’d thought of it on my own. So you see I wasn’t influenced by the prediction itself. Clearly a good omen.

The new guy and I were trying to learn pinochle today at work, but gameplay was hampered by the fact that the lowest trump card is always called the “dix”, which the card book claims should be pronounced “dese”. This prompted too many “dese nuts” jokes for us to adequately master the game in one day. I say this, but the real reason is that pinochle is a complicated game as explained by the book I have. We ended up getting tired of not learning the game and instead took to playing Domino Hearts, which is an offshoot of Hearts that can be played with anywhere from two to seven people. Really, though, about that dix thing. It sounds bad either way.
