Just the Facts, Ma’am.

I’ve been pretty scarce this month because of the nightmarish group project that was finally completed and turned in today, for which the only cool member of my team was this lady who lives in Texas and helped save my sanity by being the only other competent person I worked with. The other group members were some guy who didn’t understand English that well, some guy who dropped the class in the second week, and a woman who was so stupid that her share of the paper seemed like it had been written by Bizarro from the Super Friends.
So earlier this month I got to participate in a lineup for the guy who scammed me and my boss back in September. Those of you who have been around a while might remember that last October was kind of a rough time for my store, since we got scammed for about $10,000 and our then new girl got fired. Anyway, later they caught the guy in Topeka and the other stores who got scammed by him all jumped on the bandwagon to file our police reports and get in on the prosecution, including us.
It was in the morning that the detectives called and asked if they could have me do a lineup, and of course I agreed. Who wouldn’t? I took this guy’s actions back in September pretty personally, considering I would have lost my job if my boss hadn’t vouched that I did everything I was supposed to, and considering how we had to spend the next 6-8 weeks with our figurative tails between our legs every time we talked to our higher ups. So as soon as I got off the phone I started racking my brain for the details of that day, which had grown pretty foggy in the four-odd months since the incident. I was a little worried, but I took my time on the lineup like the detectives on TV dramas always say to, and picked him out correctly the first time. It wasn’t quite like on TV, but close enough.
