Flower Delivery

Tuesday afternoon I was working alone and this guy came in with a huge flower arrangement and set it down on the counter. “Is there a [my name] here?” he asked. I was pretty surprised. I quickly tried to remember if it was some important anniversary that my boyfriend had remembered and I’d forgotten, but I was pretty sure it wasn’t. Then I opened up the card and read, “I appreciate your going the extra mile!”, signed, the complete stranger whose check thief I uncovered Monday. Talk about an enthusiastic display of gratitude. The blooms, from Eidson’s Florist, are gorgeous and still haven’t wilted or anything, plus they are yellow, my favorite flower color. I assume they were expensive and plan to enjoy them as much as possible because nobody I know is rich enough to send me expensive flowers without me feeling guilty about the money part of it. Yes, that is a bottle of vodka in the background. I noticed it in the shot while I was sizing down the picture and didn’t feel like retaking the photo without. Please note the large bottle of calcium tablets next to the vodka, which clearly demonstrates that I keep healthy things in the house too.
