I Have To Go To Court

We’re not normally a busy store, but my boss and I got our asses kicked today. We cashed about six times more in checks today than we normally do on a Friday. We ran out of money so quickly today that we had to have the area manager bring us money three times. We closed with barely enough money for the weekend, but tomorrow is when all the people in the neighborhood will come in to wire money to Guatemala or Cuba or whatever other third world hellhole their family is still stuck in, and I’ll get flooded with more twenty dollar bills than I know what to do with.

I called Wyandotte Code Enforcement today to let our officer know that everything is complete, nearly a week ahead of the court date. However, it appears that he was in fact lying to me when he said if I had it all finished before the court date I wouldn’t have to go at all. So I still have to take off from work next week for that shit, which pisses me off. What is the point now? I hope he wasn’t lying about the $100 fine being waived, too. I really don’t want to pay it, especially after I already paid our yard guy $150 to clear all the brush out by hand on that miserable hill. Maybe we can sell our half acre north of the garage. But then somebody would buy it, build an adobe bungalow painted hunter orange, and play dance music all day and all night and shoot guns off at random intervals. So on second thought we’ll keep that useless swatch of land and continue slaving over its upkeep.
